I'm sure all that everyone that is in college or went to college can agree that the books are a rip off.
The campus book store charges you a bunch of money for a book that you'll use 5 times during the semester. Then at the end of the semester they'll only give you $10 for the book that cost you $90 at the beginning of the semester. After my freshman year I found that the best way to save money was to rent my books.
I recently found the site Campus Book Rentals and it has made all the difference. After comparing prices I found that my books were 40-90% cheaper on this site than at my campus book store. Campus Book Rentals also has free shipping both ways! As a college student, every dollar counts to me so even saving just $5 is a big deal.
Even if I rented my book from school it would STILL be $17.71 more than Campus Book Rentals. And If I had to buy the book new (which I most likely would have to) that's $61 more!

They are even starting a new service called Rent Back. Instead of selling your books back you can earn money by renting them to other students! Every student has some old text books that just take up space, now you can make money off of them!
What really excited me about this place was their work with Operation Smile. This is a program the provides safe, effective, and free cleft lip and clef pallet surgeries around the world. A portion of the proceeds of EVERY book rental will be donated to Operation Smile. So even renting one book will make a difference.
If you're still not sure how all this works watch the video below:
