When to Use Adobe Software

You probably know about the three major design softwares, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, but do you know when to use one versus the other? There is nothing more frustrating than trying to make the wrong thing in the wrong program.

InDesign

This is the program I use the least. It's mostly used for layout purposes. Do you need to make a brochure? Use InDesign. You want to use things you create in Illustrator and Photoshop and enhance your Indesign creation. You can do some tracing in InDesign but it is a little more limited than Illustrator and is has no photo editing ability.

Illustrator

Now that brings us too Illustrator, my favorite program. Illustrator is for making and editing vector images. A vector image can be made as big or as small as you like, and it will still keep it's clarity. You can't make multiple pages documents like you can in InDesign but that is really its only drawback.

Photoshop

Last but not least in Photoshop. I think this is the most difficult program to learn how to use, but once you learn how to use it you can make some amazing things. This program is used on bitmat images. Bitmat images are made of pixels. Like the name says, you use this to fix photos. If you want to make something that you'll be resizing, you shouldn't use photoshop.

So now you know how to use the three main design programs. So go and make some awesome designs now that you know what programs to use!!
